MARIA CLEMENTSON, OSTEOPATH
I’m Maria, a dedicated osteopath with a Master’s degree from the European School of Osteopathy. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of treating patients of all ages — from newborns to the elderly — and I take great joy in helping each patient at all stages of life, helping to manage both acute and chronic musculoskeletal complaints, restore health, support rehabilitation, and promote long-term wellbeing.
As a mother myself, I understand firsthand the challenges that can arise during pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood. This has shaped my passion for supporting women and babies through gentle, tailored care. I offer treatment for common concerns such as pelvic girdle pain, pubic symphysis pain, postnatal MOTs, as well as colic, tongue tie, and head shape changes in babies — all alongside general check-ups and advice to help mothers and little ones thrive.
My treatments are always tailored to the individual, drawing on a variety of approaches including cranial sacral therapy, soft tissue release, structural adjustments & mobilisations, blading, lymphatic drainage, dry cupping, sports massage, and modern acupuncture.
I am registered with the General Osteopathic Council and is a member of the Institute of Osteopathy.
Paediatric CARE
Paediatric osteopathy is a gentle, hands-on therapy that supports the healthy development of babies and children. Using a combination of structural and cranial treatments, our Osteopath Maria helps to release tension, improve mobility, and restore balance in the body. These techniques are particularly soft and well-suited for newborns and young children.
Benefits of paediatric osteopathy include:
- Supporting digestion helping with constipation and gut health. - easing colic or reflux symptoms - Improving sleep and relaxation through cranial encouraging a calm and balanced nervous system - Aiding postural development and mobility. - Relieving tension from birth strains, and asymmetries (side preferences). - treating tensions in upper body helping with feeding difficulties or tongue-tie -alleviate neck tensions (torticollis) or flat head (plagiocephaly)
Our Osteopath Maria tailors her treatment to the child’s needs, using safe and effective techniques to promote comfort and well-being of the child.
All children can benefit from a general osteopathic check-up and treatment, especially after birth. The delivery process can place strain on a baby’s body, leading to tension or discomfort. Osteopathy helps to gently release these strains and support their early development.
WHAT IS OSTEOPATHY
Osteopathy is a hands-on therapy that focuses on diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal conditions. It takes a holistic approach, assessing the entire body to identify the root cause of discomfort through a thorough physical examination. Each treatment is tailored to the individual, incorporating a personalised management plan.
Our goal is to restore health, promote prevention, and support rehabilitation—without the use of drugs or surgery.
During a session, a variety of techniques will be used, carefully selected to meet the specific needs of each patient.
